If the dispenser door motor is defective the dispenser door won t open. To determine if the motor is defective first determine if the motor is getting power. Up im evaporator fan. If the water inlet valve is defective or if it has insufficient pressure it won t allow water to flow through.

Ice maker just quit no ice production sounds as if you are dispensing minus the ice. The first thing to do is open the left french door of the refrigerator take out the ice cube box and look for a frosted and iced. If the door switch fails the dispenser will not turn on. Trace the line from the ice maker down the back side of the unit to the valve now pull the water line for the ice maker out of the valve and blow into the waterline.

The ice maker box has a small evaporator coil in series with the real evaporator coil and the ice maker. If the refrigerator ice maker is not working the door switch might be defective. To figure out which pull the unit out from the wall and remove the lower panel in the back. When the freezer door is opened the freezer door switch does two things.

If the im fan isn t running it doesn t make ice period. Make sure that the water pressure to the valve is at least 20 psi. If the auger is accidentally rotated you must realign the auger by turning it in 45 degree turns until the ice bin fits into place. The valve requires at least 20 psi to function properly.

Water flows for dispen. It turns on the light in the freezer and turns off the ice maker and dispenser. If the auger is not properly aligned the refrigerator will not dispense ice and or the door may not close properly. As a result the di spenser will not dispense ice.
